When the month of March rolls around, it always remind me that soon Spring will be in full bloom.  Even when seasons change and come and go, women still have to wear their many hats no matter what the season happens to be. I had the pleasure of doing the portraits of this lovely lady who is a beautiful soul. She wears many hats as a hard worker, Mom, sister and does a ton of multitasking.  And those are the hats I know about.  She is probably a aunt, daughter, cousin and friend to many others. As women, we have to juggle many hats and be excellent at wearing all of them at the same time.  We do it with strength, passion and love.  We do it thru challenges, disappointments, and surprises.  But wearing the many hats is still what we do.

Even though we wear many hats, we also need to take those hats off from time to time and have someone rub our temples, stroke our brow and hold our heads close.  Just because the hats are worn doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t give the hat a rest from time to time.

When I photograph women, I am able to spend several hours with them and we laugh and get to know one another.  We share our stories.  A lot of us wear so many hats that we are not paid to wear, but do so anyway because of how strong we love.

Ladies, try to remember to take the hat off and fling it to the sky. Live life fully with joy and love always.

Have a great week.

Weddings Means Fresh Starts!

April 2017

Wedding season begins this month and goes thru its peak periods thru September.  I always look at the Wedding Season as a chapter of new beginnings for so many reasons.  New beginnings means you take a  portion of your life and decide, ‘Hmmm….I need to change something up!’  Sometimes those beginnings are things you have to do and that are forced upon you while other new beginnings are things you purposely seek out.

Have you ever had those new beginnings that just pop up out of the blue and you are forced to deal with them?  That has happened to me a number of times.  I think it is Life’s way of giving me a shove and keeping me on my toes.

Photographing women during weddings is a way to showcase new beginnings and new chapters.  I wonder what she is thinking as she embarks on this new journey. There is so much more to her change than the big wedding day as she moves forward. But for that day, we can only hope and pray for positive new beginnings as the Bride moves thru her new chapter of change.

Ladies, here’s to new beginning whether it is your Wedding Season or not, move forward in positive light and love.
